Description from the seller
IN RISALTO
* Equipped with Federperiti Compliance Guarantee Expertise
* Original 4-cylinder gasoline engine of 2,200 cc
* Produced at the end of 1941, Willys MB version
* Bodywork restored in the original color
* New canvas hood just installed
STORIA/PANORAMICA
The Willys MB is the quintessential light military all-terrain vehicle with four-wheel drive, has become the very symbol of the American armed forces during World War II, and is the progenitor of all modern off-road vehicles. Born from a 1940 urgent Army procurement, it was originally designed by Bantam Car Company, but mass production was entrusted to Willys-Overland (and later Ford under license) to meet the enormous wartime demand.
This example, production serial number 104734, belongs to one of the earliest series produced at the end of 1941. Type-approved for road use in 1947, it retains its original 2,200cc gasoline engine and has undergone a complete restoration starting from the chassis a few years ago, after which it has been kept in a private collection. A new soft top has just been installed.
EXTERIOR
The bodywork features a restoration in the original color and is in excellent overall condition. The canvas parts are complete and in excellent condition as well. Of particular interest is the original underbody, well restored and well preserved. The chassis is solid and shows no signs of accidents. The wheels have been restored and the entire car presents in beautiful condition.
INTERIOR
The interior has been restored in the past and today presents in good overall condition, preserving a pleasant and authentic patina of the time. The dashboard is complete with original instruments and well preserved, as is the rare period instrumentation, an element that helps keep the cabin faithful to the model's original setup.
MECCANICA
Original 4-cylinder 2,200cc gasoline engine, paired with a 3-speed manual gearbox with reduction gear and selectable four-wheel drive. It has recently been restarted after a long period of inactivity. The technical inspection is valid until September 2028 and showed no defects; the car is road-legal. However, given the limited recent use, a general check is always advisable.
A rare original 1941 Willys MB today is rare and increasingly difficult to find due to growing interest in this type of road-legal vehicle.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
