Description from the seller

KEY FEATURES:

• Iconic high-performance sedan: BMW M5 (E39) originally from the German market, registered in Poland since 2008
• Naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 S62B50 engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox
• Most body panels retain their factory paint thickness, and the underbody structure is sound
• Interior in original factory specification, with leather upholstery and fully electrically adjustable seats
• Comprehensive service carried out in October 2025, including new Bridgestone Turanza 6 tyres, a Bosch battery, two mass air flow sensors and new rear brakes

HISTORY/OVERVIEW:

The third-generation BMW M5 (E39 series), unveiled at the 1998 Geneva Motor Show, is widely regarded as one of the most important and highly acclaimed sports sedans of all time. It was the first M5 powered by a V8 engine (S62), as well as the last to be offered exclusively with a traditional manual gearbox. This model combined the luxurious character of the 5 Series saloon with outstanding track performance. The example presented here (VIN: WBSDE91050GJ19233) is of European origin (Germany) and was imported to Poland in 2008.

BODYWORK/PAINT:

The bodywork is straight, with no visible signs of road accidents or major dents. The paintwork has good colour depth and shows normal signs of use consistent with its age and mileage, in the form of minor scratches and stone chips. Most body panels retain their factory paint thickness. The glass, including the windscreen, is original, and the chrome elements and Shadow-Line trim are intact. The headlights remain clear, with minor signs of use in the form of scratches. Most seals are in good condition (some are still original, while others have been replaced). The underbody and structural components, including the critical rear subframe mounting points, sills and boot floor, are sound and require no bodywork repairs. The factory underbody covers are in place.

INTERIOR:

The cabin remains in full factory specification. The leather upholstery on the seats and door cards is in very good condition, with no cracks or damage. The seats have fully functional electric adjustment. The headliner is clean and properly tensioned. All electrical and electronic equipment is fully functional, including the factory radio and sound system, automatic climate control, electric windows, instrument cluster gauges and onboard computers.

MECHANICAL:

The naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 (S62B50) runs smoothly, maintains the correct idle speed and delivers full power smoothly. The engine bay is clean, with no fluid leaks, and the auxiliary belt system is in good condition. The 6-speed manual gearbox shifts smoothly, and the clutch operates as it should. The braking system provides effective stopping power. The suspension works properly, though some minor routine servicing may be required. A range of work was carried out in October 2025: a new Bosch 110Ah battery and two new Bosch mass air flow sensors were fitted; new rear brake discs and pads, along with handbrake shoes, were installed; the oil and all filters were changed; and new Bridgestone Turanza 6 tyres (manufactured in 2025) were fitted, with even, deep tread.

DOCUMENTS:

Polish registration certificate
Polish vehicle card
Technical inspection valid until 24/08/2027
Invoices for repairs and parts from 2025 (as shown in the photos)

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
