Perpetual calendar - Creation Euroway - Italy - Space Age Calendar

Up for auction is an exceptionally rare and pristine piece of 1970s Italian Space Age design: the "Pyramid" Perpetual Wall Calendar, manufactured by the iconic Euroway in Torino, Italy.

While Euroway’s "Ring-a-Date" calendar remains widely known due to modern reissues, the "Pyramid" model is an elusive, highly coveted holy grail for 20th-century design collectors. It was never re-released, making complete, original vintage examples incredibly difficult to find on the market today.

Design & Mechanics: Rather than utilizing sliding rings, this calendar relies on a beautiful, tactile grid of three-dimensional pyramid-shaped plastic caps. Beneath each removable topper lies the printed calendar grid tracking days, dates, and months. The user removes the corresponding caps to reveal the current date, leaving the rest of the grid uniform.

The calendar is a masterful example of 1970s Op-Art (Optical Art). The pyramid tiles feature a stunning, vibrant color gradient that seamlessly shifts from deep, rich reds on the outer borders, through brilliant oranges, into warm yellows, and finishing with a striking lime-green center. The result is a mesmerizing geometric mosaic that acts as both a functional calendar and a dramatic piece of wall sculpture.
