Two neoclassical-inspired Madeira bedside tables from Europe dating to the 20th century, each with a drawer and featuring marquetry and contrasting wood inlays, brass oval handles, four straight tapered legs, and overall dimensions of 66 cm high by 46 cm wide by 37 cm deep, in reasonably used condition with possible small parts missing.
Description from the seller
Exceptional pair of antique nightstands that embody the elegance and sobriety of the Neoclassical style (D. Maria).
It is two symmetrical pieces of high artistic quality, conceived with refined marquetry work and inlays of contrasting woods.
Each table has a drawer on the inside, offering practical storage.
The whole silhouette is highlighted by straight lines and geometric moldings that confer visual balance to the pieces.
The great highlight lies in the decorative embedded details. The fronts of the doors display intricate floral motifs and sinuous garlands in golden tones over the warm wood background. The top features a perimeter inlay in stringing that delineates the natural beauty of the wood grain.
They preserve the original handles in worked metal/bronze of oval shape at the center.
The tables rest on four tall, straight and slightly flared legs (stiletto), typical of Neoclassical furniture of the period, decorated with vertical inlaid strips.

66x46x37cm
