Colors and textures largely determine how we perceive shapes. In search of the new, master photographer Guido Argentini, during a photo session in Miami in 1995, was drawn to the idea of completely silvering a model from head to toe. The result was as beautiful as it was astonishing—the fine grayish shadows emphasized edges and surfaces in a way that seemed otherworldly.
Argentini was so thrilled that he has now created an entire photo series with silver models, opening up entirely new perspectives on nude photography. His images recall Brancusi’s highly polished objects and the dynamic energy of Degas’ ballet drawings. Through them, the human body gains the solidity of sculpture and the vibrant energy of dance.
