Brass jeweller's/pharmacist's precision balance, dating from 1960–1970, complete with original blue velvet-lined storage case, a removable beam with two suspended pans, support rod, handling pincers, and a nearly complete brass weight set from 1 g to 50 g, all in working order and in good used condition with minor aging traces.
Description from the seller
Jeweler/pharmacist's precision balance with complete case and weight set
Antique gilded brass precision balance, presented in its elegant blue storage case lined with deep blue velvet. This type of balance was used by jewelers, watchmakers, pharmacists or laboratories for very high-precision weighing.
The set includes the dismantled balance with its beam, the two pans suspended by chains, the support rod, the handling clamp, as well as a brass metric weight set from 1 g to 50 g. The small fractional weights kept in their original compartment are also present, which testifies to a particularly complete set.
The contrast between the polished brass and the blue velvet offers a very handsome presentation. The balance retains its original case with brass clasps. The various components fit into their respective recesses, which facilitates storage and transport.
Condition
Good overall condition.
Complete balance.
Brass pans without deformation.
Chains present and in good condition.
Weight set nearly complete.
Handling clamp present.
Interior velvet well preserved with some normal signs of use.
Case shows light marks related to age and use.
Some small traces of oxidation or micro-scratches on certain brass pieces. See the photos; they are part of the description.
