Description from the seller

Ancient manuscript Quran – 2 simple leaves, recto-verso – 4 pages handwritten
From a Quran on detached leaves.
17 cm × 12 cm.
Probable date: second half of the 17th century, 1st half of the 19th century.
Circa 1750–1850.
2 simple leaves handwritten recto-verso, i.e. four pages, coming from the same old Arabic Qur’anic manuscript kept in detached-leaf form.
The set comes from a part of a Quran (juzʾ) and includes several identifiable surahs. Among the passages formally recognized on the leaves are notably surat al-Mulk (الملك, surah 67) as well as the final surahs of the Qur’an, including al-Ikhlāṣ (الإخلاص, 112), al-Falaq (الفلق, 113) and an-Nās (الناس, 114).
The Qur’anic text is copied in Arabic in a large, regular and very legible calligraphy in black ink, abundantly vocalized and punctuated with auxiliary signs. Titles and indications relating to the surahs are rubricated in red–orange ink, as are some reading and separation signs.
The written surface is delimited by a polychrome manuscript frame with multiple borders, mainly red-orange and black, with occasionally a green-blue border.
The changes of surahs are particularly decorative, their title, traditional classification and their number of verses may be written in red before the basmala, بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Provenance of the leaf material
This leaf comes from a set of manuscript leaves.
The leaves were contained in a-type binder folder with an old Arabic cataloging card that documents their identification and chronological attribution.
It includes notably:
اسم الكتاب : جزء من القرآن الكريم
Ism al-kitāb: Juzʾ min al-Qurʾān al-Karīm
Title of the book: a part of the Noble Qur’an.
The field reserved for the name of the scribe (اسم الكاتب) is not filled in.
The card then states:
تاريخ الكتابة : القرن العاشر الهجري
Tārīkh al-kitāba: al-qarn al-ʿāshir al-hijrī
Date of copying: 10th century AH.

2 simple recto-verso leaves from an Arabic Qur’anic manuscript.
Handwritten, black ink with red-orange rubrication.
Partial description of the 2 leaves.
Leaf with the end of al-Fātiḥa,

Alif, Lām, Mīm. This is the Book about which there is no doubt; it is a guide for the pious, those who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided...

Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn
from the evil of what He created,
from the evil of the darkness when it settles,
from the evil of those who blow on knots,
and from the evil of the envier when he envies.
Then begins in red surah al-Nās (114):
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
