Description from the seller
Antique crystal perfume bottle with a 14 karat gold frame and original case – 19th century
Fine antique perfume / scent bottle, made of clear cut crystal and featuring a 14 karat gold frame with a hinged lid.
The gold frame bears the Dutch oak leaf hallmark, the official fineness mark for 14 karat gold (585/1000). The hallmark is clearly visible in the detail photos.
The bottle has a rectangular, faceted form with a heavy cut base. Under the hinged gold lid there is still the original cut crystal inner stopper.
The original, custom-made case has also been preserved. It is lined on the inside with blue-green fabric, making the piece even more complete and collectible.
The model, execution and hallmark indicate production in the second half of the 19th century, likely circa 1870–1900.
