The disc dagger is a European dagger form that appears from the 14th to the 16th century. It enjoyed wide distribution among the people of the time: from traders to knights, it could be found in every social stratum. The piece offered here is classified as a disc dagger with a single-edged blade, as well as the iron oval disc.
Since stabbing weapons were not for peasants or the unfree, this weapon was the property of a knight.
The parrying discs served in combat on the one hand to protect the hand, on the other hand to allow more pressure on the blade and against the opponent.
