Description from the seller

5 hand-painted pewter figure team trains – Military artillery/train transport – Napoleonic era

Decorative and highly detailed collection of five hand-painted military horse-drawn teams from pewter/metal, depicted as a historical artillery or train column.

Each team consists of four horses, two of which carry mounted soldiers/drivers, and a trailing two-wheeled train, platform, or transport wagon. In total, the collection comprises 20 horses, 10 mounted figures, and 5 wagons.

Particularly appealing is the elaborate miniature workmanship. The horses are painted in brown, black, and beige tones and equipped with finely detailed bridle, harness, and traces. The military riders also display numerous details in uniforms, headgear, equipment, and painting.

The portrayal stylistically resembles a European military unit from the Napoleonic or early 19th century era. The gray uniforms and the design of the headgear as well as the horse-drawn teams evoke historic artillery and train troops of that time. A definite attribution to a specific regiment or manufacturer cannot be reliably determined from the existing figures.

The individual horse groups are mounted on elongated metal bases. The wagons are connected to the teams either separately or via delicate towing mechanisms. It is precisely these numerous fine metal parts, saddlery, and traces that make the ensemble visually especially appealing.

The figures are in a period-appropriate collector’s condition. In terms of painting, wagons, and delicate parts, there may be occasional age- and wear-related traces, slight color losses, or minor deformations. The detailed photos are part of the condition description and should be consulted for assessment.

An exceptional and highly decorative set for collectors of historical pewter figures, military miniatures, artillery representations, and Napoleonic figures.
