Rare Catholic devotional document richly illuminated, featuring a photographic portrait of Pope Pius XI, accompanied by a personalized apostolic blessing granted to “Marguerite Schwertfeger and her family.”
The document is adorned with historiated polychrome initials, the papal arms, and an important dry seal of the Vatican. The text grants the apostolic blessing as well as the plenary indulgence in articulo mortis (at the hour of death), according to the official formula then in use.
Signed by Carolus Pansoni, bishop and officer of the Roman Curia, with a handwritten note dated 11 April 1920. Preserved old gilded frame.
