Description from the seller
GENERAL:
This 1948 Packard Super Eight is an exclusive American classic acquired fully restored in 2004 during an exposition in Germany. Since then it has formed part of a family collection, kept with very occasional use over the last 20 years focused on Sunday drives, fashion photo shoots, and weddings. The 1948 Packard models belong to the marque’s famous 22nd series, historically recognized for their advanced aerodynamic design with flowing lines that earned an award from the New York Fashion Academy. Likewise, this model shares line and elegance with the famous Packard convertible used by the character Doc Emmett Brown in the Back to the Future film trilogy.
CARROCERÍA Y PINTURA:
The exterior of the car is in impeccable condition, preserving the original elegance and an exceptional level of maintenance. The fabric top is in perfect condition and features an advanced hydraulic operation system, a highly exclusive and unusual equipment for post‑war American cars.
MECÁNICA:
Under the hood lies a refined inline eight-cylinder engine, emblematic of the progressive power and smoothness of ride that made the Packard name famous. To ensure quick starting and optimal operation of all components, the vehicle has an electrical system with two batteries: one 6-volt and one 12-volt.
INTERIOR:
The cabin stands out for its immaculate conservation state that keeps intact the comfort and luxury of the era. Among its comfort features are hydraulic-powered window regulators, an innovation well ahead of its time.
DOCUMENTACIÓN:
The car is registered as a Historic Vehicle and has the Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) valid until 2029. In its documentation it is formally approved as a 6-seat vehicle, offering a generous interior space.
RECOGIDA:
The vehicle is located in Madrid, Spain. After the closing of the award, 20 days of storage are offered at no extra cost to organize pickup or the corresponding transportation.
OTRA INFORMACIÓN:
It is a unit suitable for both demanding collectors and for special events or film and photographic productions.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
