Washington, Old Willow. - Serving plate (6) - ceramics - Old Willow

Elegant set of six vintage Washington plates, model Old Willow, made in England and decorated in a deep cobalt blue on a white background. The pieces reproduce the famous Willow Pattern, one of the most recognizable oriental-inspired decorations in English ceramics, featuring its characteristic landscape of pagodas, birds, a bridge, trees and gardens, surrounded by a rich ornamental border. Especially attractive is its square shape with softly rounded corners, a less conventional variant than the usual round plate, which gives the set a strong decorative presence. The transfer decoration preserves a defined impression and a beautiful contrast between the deep blue and the light background of the ware.
On the back they retain the stamp “Washington – Old Willow – Made in England,” identifying both the series and its English manufacture.
The set is formed by 6 plates of approximately 16.5 × 16.5 cm each, made in English earthenware with blue and white transferware decoration and prudently dated to the mid-20th century. They are in immaculate condition, with no cracks, chips, or breaks, preserving an excellent glaze shine and a sharp, well-preserved decoration.
