E. Leitz Wetzlar Bidoxit 6×30 rare binoculars from the 1930s (pre-/WWII). The binoculars are cosmetically and mechanically neat for their age. The focusing operates smoothly and the construction is solid. There is some fungus under the glass present, which is not unusual and fitting for the age of this vintage binocular (see last photo). This is visible as a small black spot when you look through the binocular.

Based on serial number 524533, this specimen was very likely produced around 1938-1939, thus pre-WWII. This makes it an early and collectible Leitz binocular.

The Bidoxit version is an early and less common variant within the Leitz 6×30 series. This designation was used only for a short time (late 1930s), resulting in significantly fewer units produced than the later and much more common Bidox.
