Description:
A rare ensemble of five identical 18th-century Chinese export porcelain dishes, decorated in refined Famille Rose (fencai) enamel.
In the mirror there is a cobalt-blue vase on a carved-wood pedestal, filled with blooming peonies (symbol of wealth and prosperity), flowering branches, and a peacock feather (symbol of high social rank and dignity).
The inner rim features four exuberant Rococo-style cartouches: two side panels with floral sprigs on a pink diaper background, and two panels with flower baskets against a gilded/black braided ground. The exterior is bordered with a delicate turquoise-green diaper band with floral cartouches.
With a diameter of 15 cm, these are not standard tea saucers, but presentation dishes (saucer dishes / sweetmeat dishes) for sweets or as coasters.
