Set of 2 Vintage Space Age 'Tube' Pendant Lamps – Aluminum – Kenwell – 1970s

Offered a beautiful, rare set of two original Space Age pendant lamps from the 1970s, produced by the Dutch Kenwell.

These iconic design classics are a fantastic example of futuristic interior design from the space age.

Each lamp is completely constructed from dozens of open, inter-welded aluminum tubes that together form an impressive spherical light sculpture. The absolute highlight of this design is the lighting effect: once the lamps are lit, the light reflects off the inside of the aluminum tubes and projects an enchanting, geometric play of shadows on the walls and ceiling.

This is the desirable, spacious XL version with a diameter of 40 cm. Because this is an identical set of two, they are ideal for hanging symmetrically, for example together above a large dining table, a bar, or a kitchen island.

Condition: Both lamps are in good, used vintage condition with normal, slight signs of aging inherent to aluminum of this age (see photos).

Operation: Tested and fully functional.

Wiring: Complete with original cords and accompanying metal ceiling caps. One lamp is missing the metal support for ceiling mounting.
