This impressive yet compact fire-gilded bronze pendulum is a splendid example of the Empire style and is characterized by rich neoclassical motifs.

The clock is flanked by Egyptian caryatids that function as columns and is crowned by a majestic eagle, a beloved symbol from the Napoleonic era.

Furthermore the pendulum is richly decorated with sphinxes, a pendulum in the shape of a sun, and a finely worked base with elegant swans, which give the whole a monumental and harmonious appearance.
