Canon Cine Zoom 512 – 8mm film camera – 1964
Beautiful and impressive Canon Cine Zoom 512, a high-quality 8mm film camera from 1964. At the time this was the top model within Canon 8mm cameras and it was designed with a lot of technology that was also applied in 16mm film cameras.
The camera features a bright Canon zoom lens of 8.5–42.5 mm with a maximum aperture of f/1.2 and a 5x zoom. The camera has a manual focus and zoom mechanism, a built-in CdS light meter, and a spring motor with manual winding. It can shoot at 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48 and 64 frames per second, and frame-by-frame recording is also possible.
The variable shutter can be set from 165° to fully closed, enabling, among other things, fade-ins and fade-outs. The camera measures about 210 × 114 × 53 mm and weighs approximately 1.7 kg.
