John Batt & Co - Fish - Fork (12) - Silverplated

An antique set of 12 Victorian silver-plated fish forks housed in its original wooden presentation box, lined with rich, deep-blue velvet. Each fork features a classic Fiddle, Thread, and Shell handle design, giving them a heavy, balanced, and luxurious feel in the hand. The tines are intricately engraved with elegant, traditional scrollwork, and the outer tine boasts the distinctively curved, wide silhouette classic to authentic fish cutlery. 11 of the 12 forks are marked with the maker's initials J.B., which is probably the maker John Batt. Only one fork is marked on the reverse with other initials.
In excellent antique condition with brilliant luster. Shows minor, expected surface wear and faint hairline polishing scratches consistent with age and light use. No major plate loss or severe damage.
The wooden presentation box is structurally sound and retains its original charm. The exterior shows typical vintage scuffs, scratches and minor edge wear. The keyhole cap and the key itself are missing. The blue velvet interior shows signs of use from storing cutlery over the years.
