Description from the seller
Splendid and elegant vintage vanity set comprising a large hand-held mirror and a coordinated brush, dating to the immediate post-war period (late 1940s). Both pieces feature a mounting in 800 silver, finely worked and hand-engraved. They bear the original period marks from the Florentine manufactory: 800 mark and the silversmith’s identifying mark 351 FI (Florence) enclosed in the period’s characteristic lozenge/hexagon. Mirror: 27 x 11 cm | Weight 226 g Brush: 22 x 8 cm | Weight 81 g Total weight of the set: 307 g (including glass and inner cores). Mirror: In exceptional condition, perfect. The reflective glass pane shows no foxing, dark spots, or chipping. The silver mounting is intact and defect-free. Brush: The internal core is original antique wood. Due to natural aging of the wood, the thin silver backing plate on the back shows some cracks and small nicks from wear (visible in photo). The bristles also show signs of time, and the item should be considered mainly for display/collecting purposes. A set with great historical and decorative charm, perfect to display on a dresser, a console, or inside a vintage display cabinet.
