The Leica M4 brings together the best of the previous models, combining in the viewfinder the framing lines for field delimitation and automatic parallax correction for the 35 and 135 lenses (they appear simultaneously) as well as for 50 and 90. For the first time on a Leica, the film rewind control is made from a tilted knob with a folding arm, instead of the inconvenient extendable button used until then. Other aesthetic changes include the self-timer and focal-length preselection levers, with a rectangular shape and black color, the film-advance lever, becoming articulated and with the final stretch coated in plastic.
