Giorgio de Chirico. Hebdomeros. Rome, Carlo Bestetti, undated [1972]. A large double leaf in octavo size for the presentation of the book Hebdomeros on laid paper, illustrated with two full-page black engravings by the artist, with a dedication from Giorgio De Chirico to Mr. Bouvet [very probably an editorial advisor of the Flammarion publishing house], a good and fine copy.
Giorgio De Chirico (1888-1978), after having been one of the leading precursors of Surrealism, was the inventor in Paris between 1911-1914 of a so-called metaphysical painting, strongly inspired by his stay in Munich. Subsequently, he evolved toward an art that imitates classical art. He is one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
