Description from the seller

FRAGMENT Terracotta I

FRAGMENT Terracotta I is a handcrafted sculptural vessel with an angular, fractured form that recalls a piece of rock shaped by geological forces rather than conventional ceramics. Its compact, irregular silhouette creates a strong sculptural presence, while deep recesses and shifting planes catch light and create constantly changing shadows.

Rich terracotta tones are interrupted by volcanic black and pale mineral textures, giving the surface a layered, geological character. The contrast between warm and dark tones becomes more pronounced as the light moves across the uneven planes of the form.

Part of the FRAGMENT collection, the piece sits between sculpture and decorative vessel. It can hold dried branches or stand entirely on its own as a collectible interior object.

Each piece is meticulously handcrafted from a sustainable composite of recycled paper pulp, natural cement, mineral pigments, and binders. Once finished, the material behaves more like aged wood than stone—lightweight yet durable, slightly flexible, resistant to cracking, and warm to the touch.

Imperfection is an essential part of the design. Natural texture variations, subtle colour shifts, and organic irregularities are intentionally preserved, making every piece individually unique.
