Refined brisé fan of likely oriental manufacture, dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century, characterized by extraordinary pierced and carved work.

Each rib is decorated with a rich repertoire of geometric and floral motifs, executed with great precision and continuity along the entire surface. The upper part is embellished with a succession of finely worked floral elements, while the base preserves elegant decorative details incised. Completing the fan is a light-colored tassel applied at the central pivot.

The fan is presented inside a large suitably shaped display case designed to follow its open form. The red velvet background creates a strong contrast with the light tone of the fan, while the gilded frame, with its pleasant patina of time, gives the whole an especially elegant and scenographic appearance.
