Montcenis - Jam pot (2) - Crystal - 2 mustard/confiture pots

An elegant and rare pair of antique crystal mustard pots, produced by the historic Montcenis glassworks in France during the early 19th century.
Each moutardier is designed in the form of a small classical urn, with a wide octagonal rim, deeply moulded médailles decoration, a faceted baluster stem and a stepped square foot. The thick, exceptionally clear crystal beautifully captures and reflects the light, emphasizing the sculptural relief and refined architectural silhouette.
The mustard pots are accompanied by two delicate gilt-metal spoons.
A harmonious and highly decorative pair, ideal for a refined table setting as well as for a collection of early French crystal.
