Rare Antique WMF Jugendstil Coffee Pot & Sugar Bowl. Art Nouveau, c. 1903-1910

An exceptional find for collectors and connoisseurs of European Art Nouveau!
Offered for sale are two exquisite pieces from a legendary tea and coffee service by the renowned German manufacturer WMF
(Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). This is the iconic "Liniendekor" model (catalog number 235/8), designed at the very height of the German Jugendstil movement circa 1905-1906.
The Set Includes:
1. A tall, elegant coffee/teapot featuring a gracefully curved spout and a hinged lid.
2. A matching double-handled sugar bowl with its original lid.
Design & Specifications:
• Style: Pure German Jugendstil. The design masterfully balances geometric accents (embossed diamond motifs) with fluid, organic vertical lines mimicking natural plant
* Material: Heavy silver plate on a base metal alloy, featuring original wooden heat-insulators on the handles to protect the hands.
* Hallmarks: The base of each piece features the highly desirable, early official WMF hallmark used between 1903 and 1910 — the running ostrich inside a rhombus, enclosed in a fully hatched shield with the letter G (for the Geislingen factory).
* Additional Stamps:
* I/0 — indicating standard, high-quality thickness of the silver plating.
* OX (Oxidized) — original factory patination. The silver was intentionally darkened in the recessed areas of the relief to create spectacular depth ano contrast.
Condition: Excellent antique condition, especially considering these pieces are over 120 years old. The original silver plating is well-preserved, the relief details remain crisp and defined, and the lids fit securely. The authentic factory oxidation (OX) is fully intact.
