During testing, the XJ220 achieved approximately 341 km/h (212 mph), making it one of the fastest production cars in the world at the time and briefly establishing it as a benchmark for road-car performance.

Its enormous yet beautifully sculpted body was shaped with high-speed aerodynamic stability in mind. The flowing silhouette, covered headlights, dramatic side intakes, and exceptionally low stance created a design that remains instantly recognizable decades later.
