Natural fluorite with white mineral association – Balochistan, Pakistan
Important specimen of natural fluorite from Balochistan, Pakistan, featuring large interconnected crystals of gray-lilac color, with translucent zones that allow observation of the mineral's internal structure.
The surfaces display pronounced stepwise growth and particular forms of natural dissolution. Among the crystals there is a white mineral material, partly compact and partly encrusting, that penetrates some cavities and is visible also through the more transparent portions of the fluorite. Its composition has not been analyzed and is therefore left unidentified.
The cavities, irregularities and seemingly corroded areas are part of the natural formation of the specimen and create an interesting contrast between the gray-translucent fluorite and the white mineralizations.
The back of the specimen features a naturally granular texture that can release a small amount of material if handled. This is a natural characteristic of the mineralization and does not compromise the overall solidity of the sample.
