Kayserzinn - Serving plate - Tin

Lovely large tin fish-serving dish in Jugendstil (Art Nouveau), designed by Hugo Leven for Kayserzinn around 1900. A particularly decorative and collectible object from the flowering period of Jugendstil. The dish is richly decorated with embossed fish, dragonflies, water lilies and reeds – typical of nature-inspired Jugendstil. A real eye-catcher, both as an art object and in a collection.

On the back marked with “Kayserzinn 4128". Works by Hugo Leven are included in museum collections such as the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Paris) and the Bröhan-Museum (Berlin).

In very good condition, appropriate to its age. Light signs of use (rear side a small dent) and a beautiful, original age-related patina.
