The Canon Canonet QL19 of 1965 is the full-size successor to the original Canonet, the camera that created the Japanese compact-rangefinder market. It pairs a fast Canon 45mm f/1.9 lens with a CdS meter offering shutter-priority automatic exposure plus full manual control, and introduces Canon's Quick Loading (QL) system that made film loading almost foolproof. With its coupled rangefinder, Copal leaf shutter and solid chrome-and-leatherette construction, it remains a satisfying and capable camera for everyday film photography.
