Antique Italian wooden console with a cylindrical three-drawer body from 1940–1950, in the Luigi XVI style with geometric marquetry and bronze fittings; dimensions 77 × 33 × 25 cm; in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This elegant sideboard stands out for its refined drum silhouette, inspired by the French Transitional style. Characterized by a slender structure, it combines geometric elements with sinuous lines, typical of the transition between the Louis XV Baroque and the Louis XVI Neoclassicism. The central body with three stacked drawers is enhanced by meticulous fishbone marquetry, which highlights the natural grain of the wood and creates a striking geometric play of shading. The bronze details, from the drawer finishes to the side friezes, give the piece a sober luminosity and a strongly decorative character, perfect for classic or antique interiors.
Main features:
Cylindrical body with three stacked drawers.
Surface: precious wood marquetry (marquetterie) with geometric motifs. Upper finishes: oval top crowned by a pierced metal railing. Decorations: cascading side friezes and knobs in worked bronze. Supports: tall, sinuous cabriole legs with bronze protective terminals (sabots).
