AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful, in perfect condition, beautifully colored, a very large XXL shell of Charonia tritonis — colloquial name for the triton trumpet or giant triton, a species of very large sea snail, a mollusk in the family Charoniidae, among the tritons. It is one of the largest mollusks on a coral reef. The shell is thick and heavy, strongly spiraled into the shape of an elongated tower. It ends sharply at the top and gradually widens toward the aperture.
Strongly ribbed, with distinct spiral ribs and tubercles. The shell color is most often yellowish, cream, or brown with irregular darker spots and bands. The aperture (shell opening) is large, wide, oval.
The interior is smooth, often orange, pink, or reddish-brown, contrasting with the outer surface of the shell. The outer lip is thick, sometimes wavy, often with delicate serrations.
Special features — due to its large size and distinctive structure, it has been used in many cultures as a wind instrument (shell-trumpet).
It is valued by collectors and has significance in art and rituals. Dimensions — 115×160×350 mm. Highly recommended to collectors and interior designers/decorators.
