Magnificent antique desk wax-seal lifter (wax knife / wax seal) from the early 20th century (ca. 1900–1910), belonging to the Art Nouveau period.
​Description: A precious desk tool designed to break and lift wax seals. It consists of a wide, stable steel blade (with visible maker marks) joined to an elegant sterling silver handle (800 thousandths).
​Design: The handle features exquisite and fluid ornamentation typifying modernism (Art Nouveau / Jugendstil), decorated with phytomorphic motifs, sinuous repousé lines and a characteristic geometric finial. A piece of great refinement, ideal for collectors of table art, antique silverware, and period desk objects.
​Dimensions: Total length 12 cm.
​Condition: Very good overall condition. Solid and sturdy structure, the silver retains its beautiful original patina of the period and the steel blade remains stable with minor signs derived from use and age. The photographs are part of the description.
