Chi - wara - Bambara - Wood - Mali - 85 cm.

Elegant and ancient Tywara Bambara female from the Segou region of Mali.
It features a hippotrague antelope carrying its joey on its back.
This kind of crest was worn during rites related to Bambara agricultural festivities.
Here we find a refined and elongated stylization with a long neck, long twisted horns curved backward.
The wood is hard, the patina dark.
Signs of wear on the rectangular base.
Good overall condition despite its age.
