Special antique Spanish ecclesiastical prayer chair / prie-dieu
Beautiful, characterful wooden church chair with a high open back, central cross ornament and fine decorative rosette nails.
The chair is handcrafted and has a gorgeous dark, warm patina. Traditional woodworking joints, wear, and signs of use give the piece an authentic appearance.
Spanish, circa 1890–1920, probably around 1900. It is an ecclesiastical prayer chair (prie-dieu / reclinatorio).
The chair is in good, stable condition, with normal age- and use-related signs. The wood has a lovely well-used look. The upholstery under the seat also shows signs of age.
