demeyere - Side table - Chrome suitcase, Bakelite - Side table / smoking table

Standing Art Deco smoking table in chrome designed by the Demeyere firm around 1920, and thereby one of the most renowned designers in Belgian history.

Free-standing model with six-angled profiles and little spheres characteristic of the Art Deco period; the black parts are made of Bakelite.

The inner tray in the ashtray is removable and in excellent condition, as is the tray, in superb condition.

The surround around the bottle holder has been fitted with a trim, also finished in chrome.

The base was weighted with an internal cast-iron plinth to improve stability of the piece as a whole.

For transport, this is dismantled.

Sold pieces will be insured and shipped on the upcoming Saturday ending the auction.
