Description from the seller
Art Deco Hall Coat Rack with Stepped Architectural Columns and Mirror, circa 1940
European manufacture, circa 1940. This substantial wall-mounted hall rack combines richly toned wood, tubular metal rails, brass fittings and an integrated mirror in a strongly architectural composition.
Designed in an Art Deco vocabulary, the structure is distinguished by its stepped wooden side columns, arranged at two different heights and framed with vertical metal elements. These pronounced side structures give the piece considerably more sculptural presence than a conventional coat rack. Multiple brass coat hooks, hanging hooks on the lower rail, upper rails and the central mirror provide practical hallway storage within a compact wall-mounted format.
The wood, metal rails, brass fittings and mirror present an established period surface with natural traces of use that complement the original character of the piece. It will be shipped exactly as shown in the photographs, so please examine all images carefully.
The architectural side columns are the principal decorative feature and create a balanced geometric silhouette characteristic of European Art Deco interior design. The combination of dark wood, muted metal and warm brass also makes the rack particularly suitable for Art Deco, eclectic, industrial and collected vintage interiors.
Dimensions: Height 37 cm, Width 80 cm, Depth 25.5 cm.
