An antique traditional wedding belt from Greece, Soufli, 18/19th century or around 1900. Such belts were often given as wedding or engagement gifts and were part of women's clothing. The buckle is enameled and furnished with inlaid colored glass-like stones. The central motif at the top is the double-headed eagle. Attached to the large buckle is a strap with metal plates.

Condition: the canvas strap on which the plates are strung is partially damaged. The gold and enamel decoration is partly missing. The buckle is missing a stone. The belt is complete but may require restoration.

Een antieke traditionele huwelijksgordel uit de Griekenland, Soufli, 18/19e-eeuws of van rond 1900. Dergelijke riemen werden vaak als huwelijkscadeau of verlovingsgeschenk gegeven en waren onderdeel van de vrouwenkleding. De gesp is geëmailleerd en voorzien van ingelegde gekleurde glasachtige stenen. Het centrale motief bovenaan is de dubbelkoppige adelaar.  Aan de grote gesp zit een band met metalen plaatjes.

Conditie: het band van canvas waar de plaatjes op geregen zijn is gedeeltelijk beschadigd. De goud en emaille decoratie is deels verdwenen. De gesp mist een steentje. De gordel is compleet waar dient eventueel hersteld te worden.
