Beijing (Peking) Bed Runners – Handmade – 1940s-1950s

Lovely set of two old Beijing carpets, traditionally used as bed runners.

100% handmade in wool and cotton, they feature an elegant oriental floral design in aqua green, cream, pink, and brown tones, accompanied by traditional Chinese motifs.

Both retain a protective underside and are in overall good condition given their approximate 75-85 years of age. They show no tears or structural damage.

Due to their age, professional cleaning is recommended. They have some stains, mainly on the underside, which should improve considerably with proper cleaning.

They also show some missing or worn fringe, but nothing serious and in keeping with their age.
