Description from the seller

Set of 12 water glasses, height 11.6 cm, diameter 8 cm, and one carafe, height 16.7 cm, diameter 15.3 cm. Made in refined transparent, mouth-blown glass from Venetian glassworks, each glass features an enchanting hand-satin-engraved design that recalls the sophisticated styles of the 18th century. The incised motifs, with interlacing, leaves, volutes, and noble figures, confer a timeless charm that will capture attention on any occasion. Perfect for enhancing your evenings and making service impeccable, these glasses are an elegant complement to your collection. Their classical beauty makes them ideal for any event, from formal dinners to more intimate moments. The goblets belong to the glassware: S.I.V.A. (Società Industrie Vetrarie Artistiche) M. Indovino Venezia; they are Italian antique and collectible glass objects, dating roughly to the first decade of the 20th century. Decorated with acid work, wheel-engraving or details and finishes in themed motifs. The glasses have a slightly flared shape (inverted truncated cone) resting on a thick, sturdy base with a ring. The decoration is in Baroque style with the engraving of a lady with a cavalier. Vetreria SIVA, founded and based in Venice during the 20th century (with production particularly active and appreciated in the first half of the century, around the 1910s–1930s), the company of Mario Indovino specialized in creating artistic glass and high-quality tableware. SIVA was renowned for its mastery of acid engraving and hand finishes. This technique allowed the characteristic cameo-like, velvety, and softly shaded effect, perfect for plant figures, foliate motifs and dynamic subjects (such as the juggler/dancer on the balloon goblet). The pieces bore the original paper label: an oval or rectangular label with the inscription SIVAM INDOVINO VENEZIA. Highly sought after in the market of antiques and fine art glass collecting.
