About the Author
Born in 1933, Jeanloup Sieff joined the magazine Elle in 1955, first as a reporter and then as a fashion photographer. From 1959 onward, he became a freelance photographer and worked with numerous magazines (Vogue, Queen, Nova, Harper’s Bazaar, Femme, etc.). From 1966, he published numerous books and exhibited his work in museums around the world. In 1992, he won the Grand Prix National de la Photographie and in 1994, the Grand Prix of the Nancy Biennale. In 2000, he published his two last works: Faites comme si je n’étais pas là (Act as If I Were Not Here) at Éditions de La Martinière and États d’âmes… et ta sœur (States of Mind… and Your Sister) at Éditions Alternatives. He died on September 20, 2000, in Paris.
