Antique wooden crucifix with metal corpus of Christ
Large decorative crucifix made from richly grained wood, with contrasting wood inlays and a metal figure of Christ. The cross has an attractive architectural construction with darker wooden borders and a lighter central panel.
Above Christ is the traditional INRI plaque, also made of metal. The metal elements show natural age-related patina, which gives the piece an authentic antique character.
The crucifix appears to date from the late 19th to early 20th century, although I would keep the dating cautious unless there are marks on the back.
Overall in good antique condition with visible signs of age, wear and patination consistent with its period. A striking religious devotional object suitable for a collection or traditional interior.
