Travel clock - - .925 silver - 1880-1920

Museum clock, truly unmissable. A small, luxurious antique desk/table clock (probably naval) complete with its original period case made of leather and 925 sterling silver. Dimensions are: 9 cm high, 7 cm wide, and 6 cm thick (measured in its case). The clock itself is smaller: 6.2 cm high, 5.7 cm in diameter and 4.8 cm thick. Mechanical wind-up movement, regularly functional. The case is gold-plated metal and also features a hole to deactivate the alarm, a function that this clock does not have; basically manufacturers produced a single universal case with all the holes (to reduce production costs) so it could be used for various mechanisms that included or omitted additional functions. In this case the clock has only the function of a clock, i.e., a timepiece. A very elegant antique item with particularly exquisite charm. A beautiful Swiss little jewel.
