Description from the seller

Hi, I’m the Sony TA-1150.

I’m already 53 years old. Yes, you read that right – 53. In an era when many modern devices barely leave the warranty before they start nagging, I’m still standing, operating, and doing quite well.

I was born in Japan at a time when audio gear was made a little differently. Metal, solid construction, analog controls, and no unnecessary gimmicks. I don’t need an app, Wi‑Fi, or Bluetooth. You connect me to a source and to speakers, and I take care of the rest.

Maybe I don’t look like a bodybuilder, but I can do my share. I deliver 2 × 30 W at 8 Ω across the full 20 Hz–20 kHz band, and at 1 kHz I can show a little more. My bandwidth is very wide – 15 Hz–80 kHz, so I’m certainly not a amp that likes to confine music to the minimum.

I also come fairly well equipped for my 53 years. Two Phono inputs, Tuner, AUX and Tape inputs, Pre Out, outputs for two pairs of speakers, and of course a headphone output. Add a damping factor of about 100 and harmonic distortion around 0.1% – for a guy my age, quite a decent result.

But don’t think that over these 53 years no one cared about me.

On the contrary. I’ve been opened, carefully cleaned, and oiled. Everything has been checked and I’m currently working perfectly. I’m not a forgotten old timer pulled out of an attic.

What’s important – I’ve retained my originality. All knobs, buttons and control elements are original. Nothing was swapped for random replacements, nothing was fabricated, and nothing was tried to turn me into something I never was.

Each knob is in its place and works as it should. The headphone input works, all functions are functional, and the rear panel is complete and fully functional.

And the look? For a 53-year-old, I’m quite presentable. Of course I carry history with me and I won’t pretend to be a brand-new unit straight from the shop, but I look very good and I still have something to catch the eye.

I’m not equipment for someone who just wants another device for a collection. I’d like to reach someone who appreciates genuine Japanese vintage, analog knobs, a metal construction, and the vibe of the era when an amplifier was meant to be an amplifier, not a command center for the whole house.

You don’t have to take my word for it.

Come by, take a look at me, test all the functions, and above all, listen to me. The possibility to check and audition is, of course, available.

I most enjoy personal pickup – then you can settle in and see if we really vibe on the same wavelength.

If you live far away, shipping is also possible after prior agreement. I’ll be properly secured so I arrive safely with the new owner.

Sony TA-1150 – 53 years on the clock, Japanese origin, 2 × 30 W at 8 Ω, original knobs and buttons, and a character that can’t be downloaded from any app, manual included.

Maybe I’ve been waiting for you all along."
