This drop-front secretary in dark stained wood, dating from the mid-20th century, combines practical functionality with a classic, timeless aesthetic. The slanted writing surface opens smoothly, revealing a generous writing area, side shelves, organized compartments, and an elegant central niche with an arch – a true “secretary’s desk” that hides away when not in use.
The retractable side supports ensure stability, while the five drawers (two small top drawers and three wide ones) offer generous storage, all with original turned wooden handles and ornate brass escutcheons. The original key is included and the locks function perfectly.
The base rests on turned ball feet, giving it balance and sophistication. The construction is solid, with dovetail joints, and the wood is in excellent condition: without flaws, no restorations, and only the beautiful patina that time and careful use have left.
