Matchbox 1:100 - Model car - Caterpillar Bulldozer - eighteen

Caterpillar D8 Bulldozer model, a heavy construction machine marketed by the American firm Caterpillar from the 1930s. The Matchbox miniature is directly inspired by the Caterpillar D8 from the late 1950s, recognizable by its imposing grille, vertical exhaust stacks and its mechanically operated front grading blade.

Marketed under reference No. 18b in the Matchbox Series range by the British publisher Lesney, this particular exemplar was produced in their Hackney, London factories, from 1958 to 1961. It succeeded the brand's first bulldozer (No. 18a, a smaller model based on a Caterpillar D4) before being replaced from 1961 by No. 18c.
