The Bose Model 360 is a rare and classic vintage stereo receiver introduced by Bose in 1977. At the time, this receiver was part of the Bose Model 360 Direct/Reflecting Music System, an all-in-one audio system that came with a built-in or matching record player and specific Bose speakers.
Key Features & Specifications
Power: About 10 watts per channel at 8 ohm. Although this seems low by today's standards, it was specifically tailored to the efficiency of the corresponding speakers.
Integrated System: The receiver has a built-in phono preamplifier, AM/FM radio and connections for external sources (such as a tape deck or AUX).
Direct/Reflecting Technology:
The amplification and tone control in the receiver are internally tuned with special equalizer circuits to the unique acoustics of the associated Bose 360 / 300-series speakers. Bose explicitly advised against connecting traditional speakers from other brands at the time, because the sound would not come into its own.
Tested and operational!
Previous owner had drilled holes on the top and sides of the wood cabinet to create ventilation. This I’m not proud of. All in all this is the only drawback.
