Exhibition model boat - Pailebot San José de Mataró

San José de Mataró, depicted sailing close-hauled before Maracaibo on August 27, 1884, under the command of Captain José Roig y Alsina. A handcrafted wooden diorama, with fabric and metal elements, detailed rigging and sails, presented within a black-painted wooden frame. The inscription identifies the vessel with a tonnage of 225 tons. There are specimens of this model attributed to Miniaturas Navales J.J.P. of Barcelona, and a piece with this same designation appears in the inventory of the Spanish Ministry of Defense.
