Set of three original Flötotto Pagholz stacking shell chairs designed by Elmar Flötotto in Germany, mid‑century modern with molded plywood shells and chromed steel frames, stackable, circa 1960s, each chair about 76 cm high, 52 cm wide and 42 cm deep, showing light wear and preserved manufacturer markings including the FLÖTOTTO logo.
Description from the seller
Set of 3 original vintage Flötotto chairs, produced in Germany, dating from around the 1960s.
The chairs feature distinctive, ergonomically contoured one-piece shells made from molded plywood Pagholz/Pagwood and chrome tubular frames in a sledge-like form. The construction allows stacking of the chairs.
Originality is confirmed by preserved manufacturer markings. On the metal mounting plate of one chair there is a clearly embossed FLÖTOTTO logo. A round factory stamp has also been preserved on the wooden shell.
The style of this type of Flötotto/Pagholz chair from the 60s is often attributed to the designer Adam Stegner.
The set consists of 3 chairs of the same model and construction. The individual shells have naturally varied grain and wood tone, giving each chair a slightly different character.
Approximate dimensions: overall height about 76 cm, width about 52 cm. Exact measurements are shown in the photos as well.
The chairs are in good, original vintage condition, appropriate for their age. There are signs of previous use, including surface scratches, abrasions, minor chips/wear on the finishes of the wooden shells, and normal signs of use on the metal frames. The differences and signs of wear are shown in the photos.
Based on visual inspection from photos, no serious structural damage is visible. The chairs have retained their original character and have not been excessively restored.
The auction includes all 3 chairs shown in the photos.
Please examine the photos carefully, as they are an integral part of the description and show the actual condition of each chair.
