Very refined and elegant vintage dessert service complete for 6 people in fine decorative antique porcelain dating from around the 1950s to 1960s.
The set is distinguished by a sumptuous Empire/Regency style design: the central part and the rims are finely decorated with the famous gallant and courteous scenes inspired by neoclassical painting (inspired by the famous 18th-century paintings by French painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard), depicting ladies and gentlemen in idyllic gardens.
The edge of each plate is enriched by a wide burgundy/red wine band, entirely embellished with dense arabesques, Greek key patterns and geometric decorations in polished gold. The perimeter is finished with a delicate gilded scalloped edge. The back bears the characteristic mark with crown and two crossed arrows in gold.
The lot consists of 7 pieces in total:
1 large central serving plate: diameter about 25-26 cm (ideal for cakes, tarts or pastries).
6 coordinated dessert plates: diameter about 19 cm each.
The set is in exceptional vintage condition. The porcelain is glossy and bright, the gilded details in gold are well preserved and shiny, and there are no chips, hairlines, or cracks. A striking service, ideal for a classic table setting or for collectors of fine art porcelain.
